A March Summary

Well, hellooo beautiful people! I've got another summary post for you, let's dive right into it, shall we?

Finished Duolingo
Guys, I finally finished my French course! It was one of my goals for the first quarter of the year and I'm so glad that I was able to achieve it. I've definitely still got a long way to go when it comes to fluency and all but I'm nowhere as hopeless as I was in the beginning. If you've been thinking of learning a new language, read this post on why I think it's a good idea!
Throwback to lovely summer days
Travel
I mentioned that I was in the US of A (as I like to call it) a couple of posts ago but now I'm back in Manchester. It's nice to be back in rainy, old Manchester. Am I the only one who hates the process of travelling but likes getting to their destination?

Birthday
I turned 19 on the 23rd of March and I already sort of touched on that two posts ago. All I can say is, it still feels weird to say that I'm 19. It's going to take some getting used to.

Books & TV
I started a book but I didn't finish it, shame on me. I picked it up again today and I'm actually really enjoying it. It's called Tasting Fear by Shannon Mckenna. I would describe it as a romantic, erotic thriller. I know right? That's quite a lot but that's literally what it is!

Things might have been sparse on the book end in March but it was definitely not the same for TV! I love watching TV shows (not really a movie person) and recently, I started watching reality TV again and it's been so much fun! First of all, Love and Hip Hop Miami was awesome and I enjoyed watching the reunion. It had me very exasperated at some points and I would pause it to scream at the TV much to my sister's annoyance. Now that the season is over, there's a trashy TV void in my heart and I've got nothing to fill it with.

I also started watching a new legal drama called For The People. Legal dramas are usually not my thing but I decided to give this one a shot because one of the main characters is April Kepner from Grey's Anatomy. What can I say, it's been really good so far. One thing that really amuses me is the fact that I prefer the characters who are complete opposites of who I am to the ones that I see myself in. Opposites really attract, don't they? It also helps that everyone on the show is good looking lol. Here's the premise if you're interested:
Set in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) Federal Court, aka "The Mother Court," the legal drama follows brand new lawyers working for both the defense and the prosecution as they handle the most high profile and high stakes cases in the country - all as their personal lives intersect.
The Grapevine
In my last 'currently loving' post, I talked about The Grapevine and how much I really enjoy watching the episodes. In March, they did an episode on whether Bruno Mars can be classified as a cultural appropriator. Let's just say, the internet went crazy. I actually really enjoyed the episode and I agreed with points on both sides. That's one of the reasons why I like the show, you get to hear different opinions and who knows, you just might agree. I didn't like how some people were coming for them on Twitter and stuff though. They talk about a lot of serious issues e.g. the slavery crisis in Libya all the time so telling them to 'focus on pressing issues' is a bit ridiculous. Y'all should definitely check them out on Youtube!

Fitness
I'm slowly getting back into working out although I've stalled a bit since the beginning of April. I've been using Fitness Blender videos on Youtube, I like their workouts for 'people who get bored easily'. You never have to repeat a workout which makes it more fun but still painful. If you like to workout at home, then you should totally check them out!

It's so wild, this is all I can remember from March. I'm pretty sure that I had more things to share but they're just not coming to me right now. So, I guess it's a wrap guys. It's already 10 PM and I still need to iron and shave my legs (TMI, I know lol). Talk to you in my next post! xx

  2. Congrats on finishing the French course! As someone who has dabbled in Duolingo and has never been consistent, major props! // I'm completely with you on hating the process of traveling but loving new destinations. The process of traveling is so tiring, which is why I don't like to travel during school breaks, unless it's a major break, i.e. winter break and summer break. School is tiring enough; I don't need travel to tire me out too! For breaks one week or shorter, I like to explore within my city // Ooh I love crime/legal dramas :3 For The People isn't on Netflix, otherwise I'd love to check it out! (I love stuff like the first few seasons of Grey's Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Suits, etc.) // It's always hard for me to remember things from the past month too haha. My weekly recaps and miscellaneous photos on my phone and computer help a little though! // Hope your April has been off to a great start! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

  3. Good to know you had an eventful March. Congratulations on finishing your French course, Demilade!

One thing that can help you remember all that went down in a month is keeping a daily Diary. It helps me.

I hope your April is going great!
