Lately, I've been so lost when it comes to blogging. It's not like I have no post ideas, it's more like the opposite. I have so many things swimming around in my brain and I don't even know where to start from and it's not in a good way. I'm thinking, thinking, thinking every time and it stresses me out. Someone on Twitter asked readers to mention something about themselves that they wish they could change, I replied her saying I wish I could stop being an overthinker. It was nice to see that I'm not the only one who feels that way. Everyone says to take each day as it comes or each challenge as it comes, this is something that I say as well. But for chronic overthinkers like myself, it's not always that easy. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Please don't be alarmed lol, I'm just venting.
In other news, it was my 19th birthday on Friday and it was awesome. I went on a well-deserved shopping trip as a treat. Last October, I did a huge clearout of most of my clothes so it was nice to buy a couple of new pieces. I also scored some Topshop jeans for half the original price, I was pretty excited because those jeans have been on my wishlist for a while now. It's the small wins eh?

Anyways, my birthday was pretty great. It was so sweet to read all the messages and well wishes from my family and my friends. Honestly, that's what I love the most about birthdays. The really sweet messages that your loved ones send you, they make me so weepy haha. I also can't believe I'm 19? I feel so old. I know you're probably rolling your eyes like "girl, please"but I do feel old. It's lowkey my last year as a teenager, wow!
In my first post of the year, I mentioned how my keyword for 2018 is 'discipline.' Well, in the last couple of weeks I haven't been so disciplined. I'm trying to stop being so darn lazy and get back in gear. There's something about having so much free time that just makes you want to laze around. Or is it just me?
Is it very obvious that this post is super random? I was supposed to put up a post on Korean Skincare during the week but that couldn't happen due to circumstances beyond my control. So, my plan was to publish it this week but I guess I'm stalling it again to post this. I'm also thinking of going back to two posts weekly instead of just one. What do you guys think?
Anyways, thanks for reading this super random word vomit. I'll talk to you in my next post! xx

In my free time, I love to take a naps (a longer naps haha) or sometime staring at the wall contemplating either to move or not, so you are not alone!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice day & can't wait to read your Korean skincare post.

Haha, yes to afternoon naps. Thank you Fay! :)
DeleteHey hun!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday in arrears and sorry I missed it. I know what it means to be an over thinker but sometimes you just have to free those thoughts and calm down.
In other news, some Topshop jeans have been on my wishlist for a while and it'd be great to get half price!

Thank you Kachee! :)
DeleteYup, freeing those thoughts is so important but it's so difficult at times!
I was so surprised that they were on sale, I've never seen them on sale before. Lucky me haha!
Thank you Kachee <3
First time here and I like your space. Lemmi binge up on some posts.

Thank you Alexandra! xx
DeleteGirl i have been totally lost too with blogging. It's just so time consuming, and there's so much work to it.

Hope things are looking up for you! :)
DeleteLovely post. Happy belateddddd birthday dear. Maybe creative people overthink a lot, lol. If two posts per week works for you, fine.
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was creating five posts per day. Times and seasons have change. Phew.
amakamedia.com
Aww thank you Amaka! Wow five posts a day? That's so impressive!
DeleteSomething I like to do with all the word vomit is either designate an iPhone note to misc thoughts, or designate a journal or a page of a journal to misc thoughts, whether those thoughts are whole or fragmented. :) Happy belated birthday! I'm 21 :P But I remember turning 18 was like, woah I'm finally 18. And then turning 19 was like, woah I'm older than 18. I get you haha. // Free time DEFINITELY makes me want to laze around. Having at least a little bit of structure usually helps me. For that reason, I like scheduling morning meetings. For example, over spring break, I liked getting coffee with friends in the morning and/or meeting up to co-work with them in the morning. Otherwise I wouldn't get out of bed until noon haha. -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
ReplyDeleteI think I'll start doing that, writing down or recording my thoughts when I get overwhelmed. Yesss, you get exactly how I feel about the age thing!
DeleteExactly, I work well with structure and when I have no structure, I struggle when it comes to getting things done. Thanks Audrey! :)
Its never easy I must say.. If it helps I thinks you should write down every idea you have and work on them one after the other... There is no rule that says you must blog all the time.. Give yourself a little break so as yo bounce back better.

Thank you, I'll definitely start documenting all my thoughts when I get overwhelmed! :)
DeleteHappy birthday for Friday just gone! I remember when I was 19, now I sound old lol. I fully get the being an over thinker, I am one too. So in order to control that I have a document I put all my notes and ideas into, and whatever I want to blabber on about, then arrange it into something I can use, or multiple posts etc. Works quite well!

Thank you Lorna! :)
DeleteEveryone seems to be recommending writing down my overwhelming thoughts so I'll definitely try that. Wow, you're right. It could be a source of blog content, thanks Lorna! xx
I overthink literally everything and it sucks. Sometimes I just wish I could block the numerous thoughts in my head. Lol. But yes, I've learnt and I'm still learning to take every moment as it comes, try to be more spontaneous and get busy whenever my mind wants to start over working. It's a work in progress but these tips help and I hope they help you too. Yes to more random posts. xx

OMG same! I wish I could block my thoughts! Getting something to do when my mind starts going into overdrive sounds like a good idea, thanks Liatan! :)
