Hey September ❤

Happy new month guys! Wow, September already? How nice. I always see September as sort of a fresh start. Maybe it's due to the fact that it's usually the beginning of a new school year. I usually like to do a recap of the month but I thought I would change it up a bit this time around. And besides, I blogged consistently in August *pats self on the back* so you guys are pretty much up to date with everything that I would have talked about in an August Recap post.

Before I continue, I would just like to say thank you to everyone who reads and comments. You're all so supportive and your sweet comments mean the world to me. So thanks everyone 😊

August was a month with lots of ups and downs but all in all, it was quite alright. I'm hoping September is even better for me so I'm going to be sharing some of my goals for the new month. You might be wondering why I'm sharing them, I share them because it helps to hold me accountable. I know a lot of bloggers don't like to go back to read their posts but I do and seeing it on here will help to keep me 'gingered' Lol.

Be Consistent With My French // Guys, learning a language on your own is so difficult. As you all know, I've been improving my French with Duolingo. I was also learning Turkish but I had to stop because learning two languages at the same time was kind of tedious. Maybe I'll pick it up again later. Anyways, now that I've passed all the beginner bits, the French is becoming much more difficult and I'm not as consistent as I used to be. So my goal is to go back to being consistent with it.

Bake More //  I helped a family friend with a food festival last weekend and it's kind of ignited this cooking passion in me. I've always enjoyed cooking but I've never ventured into baking unless I count the cakes I baked in my high school Food & Nutrition classes. Shoutout to Mrs Ogunkeyede.  I've decided to try to make something new every week and I'm so excited. I actually baked brownies before coming upstairs to type this post and they turned out great. That's really encouraging and I can't wait to do something else.

Improve Blog Photography // I struggle a lot with my photography on the blog and it's something that I really need to improve on. The thought of taking pictures of products and what not for the blog always fills me with anxiety because I'm not so good at it. Supal of Chevrons & Eclairs was really kind and gave me some tips that have certainly helped me but I've still got a long way to go. If you have any tips or know any website I can read or whatever, please be sure to leave it in the comments section!

Use My Youversion Bible App Daily // The Youversion Bible app is really good, it's got a Bible (obviously) and you can get it in different translations and languages. And it's also got a lot of plans to do, they're like mini-devotionals. The ideal thing is to read my Bible and do a plan when I wake up in the morning but I'm always so lazy. Laziness is no excuse for not starting my day with God so I definitely need to work on that.

Workout At Least Thrice A Week //  I've started going to the gym again guys. I quit at some point and was working out at home but I realised that I actually prefer working out in a group so I'm back again at the gym. I don't do equipment and all that, I only go for fitness classes. My goal is to go to at least three classes each week so wish me luck guys.

So, these are some of my September goals. What are some of yours?

  2. Aww. Great goals. I hope you achieve them. Learning a language sounds like fun.

One of my goals for this month is to explore my daily experience through a "sexy" lens. I still don't know what that means.

  3. These sound like great goals! Congratulations on picking up French- it's definitely daunting to try learning on your own. I've never done it, but I have used Duolingo to help me along with my classes. I wish you every success this month :)

  5. Congrats on blogging consistently throughout the month of August! And good job with keeping up with French and Turkish on Duolingo! I tried French on Duolingo a few times and would be consistent with it for maybe 2 weeks max before I fell off. // I've been wanting to bake more as well, especially as the season begins to feel more autumnal :D -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

    1. The consistency thing is honestly so hard so I don't blame you for falling off. I fall off all the damn time haha. Yess, baking warm cakes and cookies when it's cold outside is definitely appealing! xx

  7. These are great goals to have! I learn Japanese but I was unable to go to class yesterday because I have hurt my neck which means that I am not really able to concentrate on anything lately.
I wish I could be more consistent with it. My husband and I learn together so I really should try to talk to him in Japanese today.

Working out is a great way to relax I have found. I normally go three or four times a week and sometimes more. However I think I need to make sure my neck is better before I try to go back again!

Chicago seems like a place that I would really love - the sights and the street art look amazing.
I don't mind the cold I don't think but it depends on how cold.
Would it be ok to carry a hot water bottle around?
I love the photo of you jumping up and down. FUN!
It is sad sometimes that personal things come up and get in the way of good times.
I took a holiday just recently when my grandmother was ill back at home so that clouded that trip.

  8. Hey hun, Hope you are great. I have been inspired to set some goals too. Like you, I also intend to use my youversion app more often and to grow closer to God. We take for granted that God will love us regardless but very few of us actually take time to build that relationship with him.

  11. Good luck with learning French. I did 7 years of French at school and I loved it, it`s such a beautiful language. I also wish you the best with your other goals. I am trying to exercise more as well, but lack the motivation. I was better with eating healthier, so at least there`s that.

September so far has been pretty hectic because of school, registration and all that jazz so I haven't had a single minute to settle down but I'm giving myself till the end of this month to get it together and become normal again!
