The Liebster Award

Hey everyone, how's your week going? Mine has been pretty busy but enjoyable. I'll be staying at home today to just relax a bit as I've been out every day since Saturday. August feels like it went on forever, I wonder why.
Liebster Blog Award
So I was nominated for a Liebster Award by Kiran of A Little Kiran. Thank you so much for the nomination Kiran, you should totally check her blog out. I love how honest she is about everything and she does great beauty reviews.

Once nominated for a Liebster Award:
  • Create a post, thanking the person who nominated you.
  • Answer the questions the person who nominated you asked.
  • Nominate 11 other bloggers and compile your own list of 11 questions for them.
Here are the 11 questions Kiran asked:

How long have you been blogging for?
Technically I've been blogging for six years (I know!) but it was full of such immature and cringe-worthy posts. I decided to relaunch back in January 2016 and it's been great ever since.
What was your first ever post?
I actually shared a link to this in my last post but you can check it out here. I don't even know what to call it lmao.

If you could spend the day with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Ooh, I always find it so difficult answering these sort of questions, I've got so many people in my head. I can't pick one!

What are your three can't-live-without holy grail products, any beauty product (hair/skin/makeup)?
The ORS Olive Oil Hair Spray (if you know, you know), lip balm and some sort of body lotion. No ashy body parts for me, no thanks.

Have you ever felt like you were done with blogging at any point?
Yes, there have been so many times when I felt like quitting. Most times, these feelings of wanting to quit came up because I was comparing myself to other bloggers and felt like my blog didn't measure up. I'm sure a lot of bloggers can relate?  I wouldn't say I don't compare anymore but I've definitely come a long way from those days, now I understand that we're all unique in our own way and there's enough space in the blogosphere for everyone.

What is a quote or message that is important to you?
A message that has become so dear to my heart in the last couple of weeks is that I am enough. I don't have to live up to anyone's standards and I shouldn't apologise for who I am. I embrace all my oddities and quirks (for the most part, still a learning process). It's been so liberating to learn that I am enough.

How do you stay positive even when you are feeling down?
When I feel really down, I always remind myself that it'll pass and I won't feel like this forever. I also like to read some of my favourite Bible passages, they really help me feel better.

You're at a bar and you order a drink, what did you get?
Definitely a sweet cocktail or mocktail of some sort.

If you were asked to write a book, what would it be about?
It would be a book of fiction and would definitely be set in Nigeria. I always love reading books set in Nigeria and other African countries so my book will definitely be the same. This question has just reminded me of a book I started writing when I was in high school. I should give it a read after typing up this post haha.

Which part of a 24 hour day is your favourite?
It's definitely in the evening when I can take a long, hot shower and read a book or watch a show on Netflix. It always makes me so happy, it's the little things you know?

What three books do you recommend to everybody?
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Half Of A Yellow Sun, Robert Galbraith's (JK Rowling) The Cuckoo's Calling and Francine Rivers' Redeeming Love.

So I nominate the following bloggers:
And here are my questions:
  1. Why did you start blogging?
  2. Biggest lesson blogging has taught you?
  3. What are some principles you live by?
  4. What are some of your best self-care practices?
  5. A book you recommend everyone to read?
  6. Your favourite comfort food and why?
  7. One thing you wish you could tell your younger self?
  8. One thing you want to achieve before the year runs out?
  9. Dream holiday destination and why?
  10. What's your biggest pet peeve?
  11. What's your morning routine like?
Thanks for reading this post guys and to the bloggers nominated, can't wait to read your answers to the questions. Enjoy the rest of your week guys. xx
