Four Podcasts You Should Totally Try

I'm typing this post on a Sunday evening as I'm trying to go back to scheduling my blog posts so that I never have to worry if something comes up last minute and I can't blog.I used to do it before and it was quite helpful so fingers crossed, I'll go back to doing that. If you didn't know, new posts go up on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Going to try my very best to be consistent with the schedule this month. I'm also doing a little health challenge and I'll tell you guys about it very soon.

This past school year, I started listening to podcasts and I talk about them quite often on the blog. There are so many to choose from depending on your interests. I like to listen to them while I get ready in the morning, when I'm cooking, cleaning or just doing something at home. I listen to more than four and I've actually got a list of new ones I want to try but at the moment, these are my favourite ones and I think they're totally worth the listen. xx

  Loose Talk

I mentioned this podcast in my July Round Up and it's probably my favourite podcast. I always look forward to each new one and sometimes I just lie in my bed and listen to it. It's a Nigerian one and is hosted by three guys; Osagz, Steve and Ayo with commentary sometimes by their producer Princess and Segun.

They talk about a host of different things, ranging from pop culture and religion to politics and relationships. They also have guests regularly on the show. They're pretty funny too and whilst I don't always agree with their opinions, I admire them because they keep it real. You can check them out on Soundcloud and on Itunes.

  Stuff Mom Never Told You
Source: Their website
My friend Itunu's mom used to tell us that you should always know a little bit about everything. That way, no matter where you find yourself, you'll always have something to contribute. That piece of advice has really stuck with me and it's one of the reasons I like to learn about different things.

If you're the same, then Stuff Mom Never Told You will be right up your alley. It's hosted by Emily and Bridget and I always learn something new from their episodes. Some examples of topics in their previous episodes include veganism, Beyonce's feminism, history of women's rights in the US and a lot of other ones. It's basically by women and for women which I think is really great. Check out their website and listen to episodes here or alternatively, listen to them on Itunes.

The Now O'Clock Podcast
Source: Twitter
I discovered this one on Twitter as I follow the hosts, @KingWole and @Duchesskk on there. They probably have the best intro song that I've ever heard on a podcast, I dance to it every time lol. Some of their previous episodes have been on rape, Africans and mental health, domestic abuse, the new Nigerian sound, sex, how social media has changed relationships and many others. It's basically a podcast about society and I always enjoy it. A new episode (is that what it's called?) comes out fortnightly, wish it was more often though. Listen to it here

  We Just Got Back/WJGB
Source: Twitter
I found this one by accident actually. Accelerate TV on Youtube released a new show a couple of months back called The Shade Corner and King Cam was on the show. I really liked her sense of humour so I googled her and that's how I found the podcast. It's hosted by King Cam (Camille), Tamu (Tamara) and Boj (Bolaji); three friends who used to live abroad but have moved back to Nigeria. The podcast is basically about adjusting to life in Nigeria and it's filled with hilarious stories.

In all the podcasts mentioned, this is probably the funniest one. These three girls are crazy and I like how they do a mix of everything. Sometimes they talk about super playful stuff like being in the dreaded friend zone or a guide to the perfect summer fling. Other times, they talk about serious things like their discussion on rape. WJGB is the perfect podcast for unwinding after a busy day, they'll have you laughing out loud for sure. Some people might find them a bit too loud but I really like them. Listen on Itunes or on Soundcloud.

This was such a wordy post with a lot of links. Thanks for reading till the end, I hope you check one of these podcasts out. What are some of your favourite ones?

I'll definitely be looking into these suggestions to expand my podcast library. Thank you!!
