What's Your Favourite Spot?

Hey guys. Before I go into what I want to talk about in today's post, I just want to say thank you to everyone who reads and/or comments on here. I was reading through comments on old posts and I got really overwhelmed with your kindness and support.I appreciate everyone who checks out my little corner on the internet and I do not take any of it for granted!

As you guys know, I'm a bibliophile. I love to read, I've been in love with books since I was in Grade 3. I still remember the book I read that made me fall in love with books. It was Christina's Kite by Enid Blyton. Whilst I can read a book in just about anywhere, there are some spots I prefer to read in. They just add to the magic if I may say so. I'm going to be sharing some of my favourite reading spots and what my dream one sounds like. I would also like to know where you like to read so please share them with me!

Under My Dining Table: Sounds a bit crazy, I know haha! In my parents' house in Lagos, there's a really fluffy rug under the dining table so sometimes I like to lie down on it and read. It's a hit with everyone in my house really, my sister likes to lie down there to use her phone!

Rainy Days In Bed: Ah, who doesn't love this? Honestly, rainy days are the best for reading. It rains regularly in Manchester and it always makes me happy (as long as I'm not caught in it haha). I like to hear the pitter patter of rain on the window pane as I read a book. Don't worry, you can roll your eyes at me. That was such a moist thing to say.

On Airplanes: I don't know if I've ever mentioned this on here but I really dislike flying. It makes me really anxious and that anxiety never goes away until I'm out of the plane. So to distract myself from the fact that I'm flying , I like to lose myself in a good book. I watch a movie sometimes as well but for some reason, I'm always unlucky in the sense that I never like the movies available whenever I'm on a plane.

The picture above (gotten from Pinterest) is an example of my dream reading spot. For as long as I can remember, I've always admired reading nooks/corners. I like the combination of natural light from the windows, the comfy cushions and the fact that you're surrounded by even more books. One of the features of my dream house is to have a lovely library that I can show off to everyone.

I was asked to do this post along with other bloggers by a brand that's trying to inspire book lovers all over the world. It's not for promotional/ad reasons really, the manager is just  a huge book lover herself. I agreed to be a part of it because I feel like it's something you guys would be interested in as my posts on anything book related are usually very popular with you all. Just wanted to put that out there.

So what am I doing this week?

Watching: A Turkish drama called Kara Sevda. It's from this drama that I got the desire to learn Turkish. It's so good but so long. Each episode is like two and a half hours long! I had to stop Jane The Virgin mid season as something major has happened and I haven't come to terms with it yet lol. Who else gets attached to the shows they watch?

Listening To: Wizkid's Come Closer. I wasn't a huge fan of the song when it first came out  but now I really like it. Maybe it has something to do with the alternative video?

Reading: Crossed by Ally Condie. It's the second book in a trilogy, I borrowed the first book (called Matched)  from my friend Daniella when I was in Year 9. I found the sequel in my local library a few weeks ago and now I'm reading it. Decided to wait before reading The Kite Runner, I know it's going to be emotional and I'm just not ready!

I feel like this post is super long , thank you for reading all the way to the end. Have a great weekend! xx

  2. I am a bookworm too! The library photo is nice, I also love a garden view for my library. And yes, reading when it's raining out, with the cold weather, and the sound of the rain outside, with a book in hand-one of the most beautiful feelings/moments in the world!

  3. There really is nothing better than reading in bed whilst it rains. I also love reading on the front steps of my house when it's warm out, or at a good coffee shop with a big mug of cocoa next to me.

  5. I absolutely love getting lost in a good book too. Rainy days are my favourite for this. There's a room in my parents' home which faces the lake and has floor to ceiling windows and that's my favourite place to read while it rains.

  8. I think what sounds best here is reading on a plane - I also get quite anxious when flying so distract myself usually with conversation, sleep or music! :)

  11. Why am I just seeing this post?!

Hmmm what's my favourite spot? I think it has to be the white chair in my parents' living room or under a shady tree in the park (but there aren't a lot of parks in Lagos, so that sucks). Do you remember that chair Dems?
Great post! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
