Currently Loving #2

I started listening to podcasts recently and I'm totally in love with them! Why didn't anyone tell me how awesome they are? One of the ones I've been listening to is by Rachel Kable and it's called The Mindful Kind. Last week, she talked about how we all need to do more of the things that light us up, that make us feel good. Bearing that in mind, I decided to share some things I've been doing that make me happy and some things that I really love right now.

Yesterday, Nida and I went into Miss Selfridge to try on jeans. I saw this pretty sheer blouse and I was immediately drawn to it. I'm really loving the whole ruffle and bell sleeve trend that's hot right now. It's so beautiful and feminine and hundred percent me. Anyways, I didn't buy the top (definitely not high on my list of priorities right now) but I tried it on. Who else likes playing dress up in stores? It's so much fun.

Did you read the Archie Comics growing up? I really liked them (I still do!). I was very excited when I discovered that there was going to be a show whose characters are based on the comics. Riverdale is totally different from the comics and so so good. I don't usually watch shows like this one but I really love this . I ended up watching the first three episodes in one go, all my friends that have watched it did the same. So if you're looking for a new show, here you go! Riverdale is for you.

My beautiful and talented friend Gulmineh was kind enough to do these henna designs for me and the rest of our friends. This is my first time getting a henna design and I really love it. As I type this I keep glancing down at my hand haha. I think it's something I'm going to do more often from now on!

I'm more of a stay at home person so I don't go out a lot but on Wednesday some of my friends and I went out for dinner after college was over. We went to this lovely restaurant called Toro's Manchester and the food was really good (and affordable too!).

We had such a nice time, there was a lot of banter and laughter. It was definitely the highlight of my week. I would share pictures of us but they're all blurry. I guess we were having so much fun that we forgot to take a nice group picture. Anyways shout out to Nida, Maram,Shannon,Abel and Dinesh.

International Women's Day was on Wednesday and I really loved all the positive, inspiring articles, talks and just the vibes in general. I actually listened to a podcast by Stuff Mom Never Told You this week and they spoke about the history behind the Women's day. It's really interesting. Women's rights have certainly come a long way but there's still so much work to be done. I have decided to become more involved in this and help in any little way that I can.

So that's it guys, these are some of the things that have lit up my life in the past week. How about you? xx

PS: Shout out to all my friends , new and old that support me and this blog in one way or another. You all are the real MVPs, you know yourselves. Love you.

  16. I used to play dress up in stores back when i was shopping abroad but now I rarely have the luxury. The top is cute, I commend you for not getting it as it was'nt a priority. Most of us dont think like this. Food looks good and I ought to try henna one of these days.

I've a forever Archie comic fan. I thought by now I should have outgrown the love, but I guess I haven't. When I see it on shelves at the counter in supermarkets, I pick one and add to to my shopping basket. I should check out the series you mentioned.
