5 Things To Do When You're Feeling Down (+1)

Hi guys! Happy new week. The weekend always goes by so fast! I was inspired to do this blog post after seeing something similar on another blog. It  was slightly different but I decided to put my twist on it. You know sometimes, you just feel down. Sometimes it can be for no reason at all. You're just in a rotten mood and you feel miserable? It happens to everyone and today I'm going to be sharing how I deal with it. I feel like this is the best time to put up this post as it's very cold now and these days all I want to do is bury my self under my duvet and do nothing. Do you do these things too? And do you have other things that you do? Let me know in the comments section! xx

  • Binge Watch Your Favourite Shows
I'm a TV series junkie. I would rather watch a TV series than watch a movie. I love the continuity of a series you know?  I've watched lots and lots of series. Something I like to do when I'm feeling down is just watch shows on Netflix. I just lie in my bed under the duvet and watch all day. It's very satisfying. You should try it sometime. If you do this already, what are you currently watching? I'm watching Suits at the moment.

  • Comfort Food
There's nothing better than eating your favourite comfort food when you're feeling miserable. It instantly lifts your mood. What do you like to eat? I love toast with a lot of butter. I also love salty chips.

  • Go Out With Friends
Call a friend for a lighthearted chat or meet up with them somewhere. Hanging out with your friends for a few hours and just gisting can help you feel better. It always works for me. Unless of course your friends are toxic and will make you feel worse (in that case, you need new friends ASAP lol).
This is from last Monday. Went for brunch with
my friend Nida. It was very heartwarming.

  • Retail Therapy
I don't do this often but it does help. Going shopping and buying new stuff can help lift your mood. I'm definitely not advocating that you go to the shops and buy things you do not need . But treating yourself to something pretty can make you feel good. I've realised that the things I buy that make me really happy are books, makeup and home stuff like scented candles and new pillows.

  • Read  A Good Book
If you're a bibliophile like I am, then this is something you'll love. I like reading a feel good book when I'm down. Nothing too serious or deep, I save those for later. Just something lighthearted and maybe romantic. A feel good book I recommend is I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella.

This is one of my favorite books.
Read my review of it HERE
Now I'm going to share my most important tip; say a prayer and go to bed! Say a prayer because you should cast all your worries to God and go to sleep because you'll almost always feel better when you wake up. For me , this is the star tip lol.

Anyways, have a lovely week guys. xx

  1. I do some of these. What I'd add to the list is painting/drawing, spending time with pets and writing. Writing is such a therapy! So is hanging out with my pets!! Just like you stated, it really helps to hang out with good friends, and check out some new place together... Great piece. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I have a wierd thing that I do when I am feeling down, I tend to do a lot of cleaning. It lifts my spirit to see a sparkling clean place and I soon forget about what was bothering me. As for food, nothing beats ARCHIE'S Milkshakes. Instant mood booster.x
