Hello lovely blog readers lol. Happy Saturday! How has 2016 been so far? I've pretty much been focusing on school. Had mock exams last week, thankfully they went well. In other news, I am currently reading this book called A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini and I love it. It's my first time reading a book written by someone from the Middle East/ Asia and it has taught me so much about life in that region and how we shouldn't just judge places because of what we see in the media.
For those that don't know, crotchet is a popular hairstyle in the natural hair community. Your hair is weaved just like it will be done if you want to get a weave and the crotchet hair extensions are 'crotcheted' to your weaved hair. My friend's mum did mine for me but there are lots of YouTube tutorials if you want to learn how to do it yourself.
There are different types of crotchet extensions but I decided to use an Afro Kinky one for a more natural look. It blends with my hair perfectly and some of my friends jokingly asked me if my hair grew superfast during the weekend. I used two packs of Soft 'n' Silky Afro Twist Braid hair in colour 4. It was pretty cheap, 8 pounds for two packs. If you can, I would recommend using Noble Afro Kinky Hair. That's what I use for my kinky twists and I was planning to use it for this as well but the only colour available was a really light brown and I wanted something darker. But this one ended up being just fine so. Another thing I like about it is that it's very versatile. When it was first done, it wasn't like this at all. It was HUGE and puffy like a big fro and so I had to blow dry it to make it reduce. I can make it puffy again I believe if I want, I can curl it, do so many things to it. I love this hair lol.

I took out my kinky twists back in December and I have been rocking my natural hair ever since. But my hair is quite short and so many natural hairstyles are not open to me. I got bored with my hair and decided to do crotchet braids.
I was trying to pose but at the same time I was looking at one dog that was coming closer and closer to me. |

The wind kept on playing some serious games. |
I've only had it for a week though and so I want to see if it's going to start shedding and how long it will last but my first impression is that it's of good quality and I am really pleased with the results. I always have this 'bad luck' whenever I want to try a new hairstyle. It NEVER goes as planned but I guess the jinx has been broken lol. What are some of your favourite hairstyles? Doesn't matter if you have natural hair or not, I would love to know either ways. Have a great weekend! xx
PS: Does anyone know where you can buy Me Before You (book in my previous post) in Lagos? Please if you do, kindly leave a comment.
